Description

A general approach to project management with emphasis on project planning and scheduling, the use of math/ network techniques such as PERT and CPM, estimation of project duration. Resource allocation and techniques of resource levelling, and the probabilistic nature of activities duration and the minimization of project cost through cost crashing procedures.

Program

B.Sc. in Industrial and Management Engineering

Objectives

  • Increase awareness of the importance of work breakdown structure in project management. Describe and use PERT/CPM techniques in solving problems by network diagrams. Introduce the probabilistic approach in analyzing network diagrams. Enable the student to perform resource allocation and resource leveling on a given project. Prepare the student two complete a realistic project management document using a suitable computer software package.
