Table Tennis Competitions – Port Said Branch

As part of the student activities plan at the Port Said Branch, table tennis competitions were organized for students from various colleges of the Academy, under the supervision and organization of the Sports Affairs Department at the Port Said Branch.

First-Semester Five-a-Side Football Cup

Academic Year 2025/2026

As part of the Academy’s efforts to support sports activities, encourage students to practice sports, and promote fair competition and teamwork, the First-Semester Five-a-Side Football Cup was organized during the academic year 2025/2026.

Team Composition

Each team consisted of seven players:

  • 5 starting players.

First Port Said Universities Chess Championship

The First Port Said Universities Chess Championship was organized in cooperation with the Egyptian Chess Federation and the Port Said and Damietta Chess Region.

The championship witnessed outstanding participation from male and female students representing 15 universities, with a total of 56 male students and 5 female students participating. The competitions were conducted according to the Swiss System over seven rounds.

The championship featured a high technical level and strong competition among the students, characterized by enthusiasm, creativity, fair play, and excellent sportsmanship. The participants demonstrated a level of performance that exceeded expectations in the sport of chess.

The first round began at 4:00 p.m., while the seventh and final round was held at 8:30 p.m., following seven rounds of strong and exciting competition.

Men’s Competition

First Place:
Mahmoud Saad Attia – Galala University, Faculty of Physical Therapy.

Second Place:
Fady Victor – Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Port Said Branch.

Islam Ahmed Refaat – Faculty of Science, Port Said University.

Women’s Competition

First Place:
Parthena Ayman Fahim – East Port Said University.

Second Place:
Rahma Ashraf Abdel Mohsen – East Port Said University.

At the conclusion of the championship, prizes and certificates of appreciation were presented to the participating and winning students in recognition of their outstanding performances throughout the competitions.

The Head of the Port Said Chess Region, the organizers, and the referees of the Egyptian Chess Federation were also honored in appreciation of their efforts in organizing and managing the championship.

All participants expressed their appreciation for the championship’s high level of organization and emphasized the importance of repeating this outstanding sporting event in the future, contributing to the promotion and development of chess among students of Egyptian universities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Practical Training for Premier League Referees

A practical training session was conducted for Premier League referees using the latest technologies and modern training methods, as part of the activities of the Referees Project Camp 2026.

The camp was held at the football field of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport – Port Said Branch, as part of the Academy’s efforts to develop the refereeing system and enhance referees’ competencies through practical training and professional preparation using the latest training techniques and methods.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Second Round of Table Tennis Competitions

As part of the student activities plan, the second round of the table tennis competitions for students of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport was held and organized by the Sports Affairs Department at the Port Said Branch.

The competition witnessed the participation of 41 students, amid strong competition characterized by enthusiasm and sportsmanship among all participants.

AAST FITNESS CUP 2025

University Fitness Cup

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, the Sports Affairs Department at the Port Said Branch organized the AAST FITNESS CUP 2025 on Sunday, 21 December 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Academy’s premises in Port Fouad.

Competition System

The championship included a series of physical exercises suitable for participants with an intermediate level of physical fitness. The competition was conducted over three qualifying rounds.

First Round:
All participants took part, with 15 participants qualifying for the second round.

Second Round:
The qualifiers from the first round competed, with 7 participants qualifying for the final round from both the men’s and women’s categories.

Final Round:
The final stage included 3 male winners and 3 female winners.

Awards

The first-place winners in both the men’s and women’s categories received championship cups. Medals were also awarded to the top three winners in both categories, in addition to cash prizes.

Sports Day for Students from AAST Branches

In implementation of the directives of Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, emphasizing the importance of enhancing student participation in student activities, particularly sports activities, students from the Port Said Branch participated in the Sports Day organized by the Sports Affairs Department at the Academy’s Main Branch in Alexandria on Thursday, 4 December.

The Sports Day witnessed outstanding student participation from several Academy branches, including Port Said Branch, Smart Village Branch, Sheraton Branch, and Alamein Branch.

Students competed in a number of sports and activities, including football, basketball, padel tennis, and volleyball.

The students expressed their happiness with participating in the Sports Day, emphasizing the importance of such events in promoting cooperation and sportsmanship and providing opportunities for interaction among students from different Academy branches.

Closing of the Friendly Ramadan Five-a-Side Football Tournament

The Sports Affairs Department at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport – Port Said Branch organized a friendly Ramadan five-a-side football tournament, held on the Academy’s fields from 9 to 15 March.

The tournament featured an outstanding atmosphere of enthusiasm, sporting competition, and a spirit of friendship among the participants. The matches were played in a friendly atmosphere characterized by sportsmanship and cooperation among all teams.

AAST Port Said Branch Football Cup Awards Ceremony

As part of the Academy’s efforts to support sports and student activities at the Port Said Branch, awards were presented to the teams that achieved first and second place in the AAST Port Said Branch Football Cup, which was held during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

The championship witnessed strong competition among the participating teams in an atmosphere characterized by enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and fair play.

At the conclusion of the championship, the teams that achieved first and second place were honored and awarded prizes in recognition of their outstanding performance throughout the competition.

The event witnessed outstanding participation and excellent competition among the students in several sports, including:

Five-a-Side Football Tournament for Secondary School Students

As part of the ongoing communication between the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and educational institutions inside and outside Port Said Governorate, the Sports Affairs Department organized a five-a-side football tournament for secondary school students on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.

The tournament was attended by a number of senior education officials and school principals, alongside outstanding participation from students representing several schools.

The matches were characterized by an atmosphere of enthusiasm and strong competition, with all participating students demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and fair play.

The organization of this tournament reflects the Academy’s commitment to strengthening communication and cooperation with educational institutions, supporting sports and student activities, and providing students with opportunities to practice sports in an atmosphere combining competition, entertainment, and social interaction.

Friendly Sports Meeting Between AAST Students and Port Said University Faculty of Commerce Students

As part of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and communication with educational institutions, the Sports Affairs Department organized a friendly sports meeting between Academy students and students of the Faculty of Commerce, Port Said University.

The meeting aimed to strengthen communication and cooperation between students from both sides through various sports activities.

The meeting included several sports, namely:

  • Football.
  • Table Tennis.
  • Chess.
  • Speedball.

The event was held on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, at 10:00 a.m., on the Academy’s fields at the Port Said Branch, in an outstanding atmosphere characterized by enthusiasm, fair competition, and sportsmanship among all participating students.

2026 Summer Sports School

As part of the community role played by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and its commitment to supporting sports activities and developing the physical and athletic skills of children and young people in Port Said Governorate, the Sports Affairs Department at the Port Said Branch organized the 2026 Summer Sports School Program.

The program aims to provide a safe and distinguished sporting environment that helps discover and develop the talents of children and young people and enhance their physical and technical abilities through a variety of sports activities under the supervision of a team of specialized coaches and professionals.

Sports Activities

The program includes a variety of sports activities, including:

  • Swimming.
  • Karate.
  • Physical Fitness.

Enrollment Requirements

For the safety of all participants, applicants are required to undergo the necessary medical examination in accordance with the approved medical code before enrolling in any sports activity.
