Overview
The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is the world’s most prestigious annual computer science competition for secondary school students. Established in 1989, the IOI brings together the world’s most talented young programmers to compete in advanced algorithmic problem-solving and programming challenges.
Organized annually by one of the participating countries, the Olympiad promotes excellence in computer science, innovation, and international collaboration while inspiring students to pursue careers in technology and scientific research.

Competition Format
The International Olympiad in Informatics is held annually in a different host country.
Each participating country typically sends:
- Four student contestants.
- Two team leaders.
