Overview

The Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics (EOI) is Egypt’s premier national programming competition for high school students. It aims to discover exceptional young programmers, strengthen their algorithmic thinking and problem-solving abilities, and prepare them for international informatics competitions.

Organized and supported by the Regional Informatics Center (RIC) at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT), EOI serves as the primary pathway for selecting and preparing Egypt’s national team for the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). Through intensive training programs and competitive challenges, EOI has played a significant role in developing generations of outstanding Egyptian programmers.

 

Objectives

The Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics aims to:

  • Discover talented high school students with exceptional programming potential.
  • Develop advanced algorithmic thinking and computational problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare students for national and international informatics competitions.
  • Build Egypt’s national team for the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI).
  • Promote excellence in computer science and competitive programming.
  • Inspire innovation, creativity, and lifelong learning.

 

 

RIC contributes through

Since its establishment, the Regional Informatics Center (RIC) has played a leading role in organizing, developing, and supporting the Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics.

 

RIC contributes by:

  • Organizing and managing the national competition.
  • Designing technical training programs and preparation camps.
  • Selecting and mentoring Egypt’s national IOI team.
  • Preparing students for international competitions.
  • Promoting competitive programming throughout Egypt.

 

 

Our Journey

Since the launch of the first Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics (EOI) in 2003, the competition has grown into Egypt’s premier national programming Olympiad. Through annual competitions, intensive training camps, and national team preparation, EOI has helped develop generations of talented Egyptian programmers and strengthened Egypt’s presence in international informatics competitions.
